I’m Jennie (or Janet). For a time, I had dropped my nickname to be identified by the name that would be on an electoral ballot. However, I got hit by a speeding forklift at the naval dockyard and the subsequent concussion does not allow for being “on” 24/7 as I could have been before. So, I am reverting back to my nickname! See guidingstarpublicationsinc.com to see what I have been struggling to do!

Hello everyone, I’m Julia. I was requested at my workplace to update and maintain a WordPress website. There was a small challenge in that I’d never used WordPress before. I’ve been struggling since January and desperately need to learn the skills taught in this course.

Hi all, I’m Catherine (or Cath). I’m a newbie to creating a website. I have one which a friend created for me, but there’s not much on it except for a photo of me and a lovely design. You can check it out at http://www.catherinelang.ca/.

As you’ll see, I’m a writer and editor. I’m working on a book-length manuscript and one day hope to find a publisher. I understand having a good web presence is very important, so here I am šŸ™‚

I look forward to meeting everyone virtually.

Hello, I am Alicia. I work regularly with updating and maintaining websites in my day job as a marketing administrator. I have worked on WordPress built sites, but am self-taught in WP and am less confident in fixing broken plugins and revamping/redesigning dated WP sites custom-built by someone else.

I am here to learn WP more formally and hope that combining this learning with my already aquired web skill set will better prepare me to re-design an existing WP website for a organization i belong to and manage currently.

Hello everyone! I’m a creative, singer, writer and editor who has been working in post-secondary institutions across the country, serving in many different student service roles. One of my favorite work bits was writing the content for a former department’s website. I’ve also written content for numerous websites as a volunteer. I am hoping that this course will add to my skill set while also allowing me to lasso my creative and professional experiences and turn them into a viable, fun and promotional digital portfolio.

Hello, my name is Patience. I have been trying to get my website up and running for almost 6 months Thynkleadership.com … which you will see is ‘under construction’ because I have not been able to figure out how to do the basics to get it up – so.. here I am … needing to learn.

I’m Sabrina. I work in marketing and am hoping to learn some of the basics of WordPress. I’ve never used it before, but I’m hoping to be able to learn how to edit my company’s site.

    Hello There,

I see a few co-workers in the group. Thanks to them, I am here šŸ™‚

I have dabbled a bit and enjoyed the challenge, have my own site built on weebly: http://www.tersiayoga.ca and would like to learn how to do so much more. I recently got involved with WordPress as COVID cancelled Camosun’s IDE Student Festival. So we went virtual. See: https://idevirtualfestival.opened.ca/

I enjoyed the challenge so much, I would like to do more. So looking forward to the deep dive!

    Hi everyone,

this is a very late greeting, work and family has kept me from truly engaging in this course until now. I am a nurse and a certified healthcare simulation educator, I am hoping this course will help me to to build a website related to learning with simulation.

    Hello,

I’m possibly the senior person on this course being retired for a decade, but I still love learning. I have enrolled in this course to put some foundation in my knowledge of WordPress as I will be called upon to replace an individual who administers a small club website to which we both belong.

See you in the course, and hopefully in our Zoom session tomorrow.

    Hello all:)

Iā€™m Suzanne and probably the last to say introduce myself. I work a couple days a week at an adult activity centre where I volunteered to run the website and quickly learned I need help…lots of it…so here I am.

Hi, I am also a bit late coming to this process but am excited to get started. I was recently laid off due to Covid and saw this as an opportunity to revise and update an old passion project web site called secondhandsavvy.com. However, along the way I have had a few other ideas surface and am now trying to decide which project to focus on for this process.
